Oh PLEASE!!!

Sometimes we must go where we do not desire to go, do what we do not wish to do, listen to what we absolutely do NOT want to hear . . . but, if we are walking in obedience to the One who holds our lives in His hands, then He gives us what we need to accomplish that which He has put before us.

We were never promised an easy path – what He said is that His yoke is easy and His burden light – what exactly does that mean, if not that we are to have it easy? It means that we don’t have to carry it, walk it, live it in our OWN strength . . . but His – for He has already conquered all things!

In fact . . . if we expect easy, we go against His Word because Paul tells us in Ephesians that we are in a war – a spiritual battle! Sometimes it actually seems that we are being bombarded right and left, frontwards and backwards, up and down – completely surrounded, standing alone on the open battle field with no shelter of protection to be found. We ‘feel’ the attacks as they hit, and they are so painful, we believe that we might not make it, but we do. Sometimes we need to plug our spiritual ears to the thoughts that the enemy throws at us . . . replace those negative thoughts with the Truth that God’s Word says about us and about the situation . . . then to allow ourselves to CHOOSE to give Him praise through the battle.

“but I can’t”, you say . . .

“it’s too hard” . . .

“you don’t understand!”

“There have been too many obstacles to overcome, I can’t!”

or “I have lost so much, I can not go on!”

These are all tactical lies of the enemy!!! Don’t go there! Do NOT allow these thoughts to float around in your mind – he may throw them at you, but do not let them in – if you focus on them, he will win and you will be knocked down, over, out, etc. REPLACE them with the TRUTH!!!

Get your praise on – worship Him – no matter how you feel! You can trust Him completely!!! Run to Him, cling to Him, rest in Him!

No one desires for you to go forward in strength and victory than Him!

No one is pulling for you more than Him!

It is His heart to rejoice over you with singing! (“The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 NIV) Think about that!!!

You are a joy to Him – He created you for a purpose . . . He sees your potential and He is there to help you achieve it . . . He already won that battle for you . . . so turn your noise, your trials, your struggles, your frustrations, your depression, your sicknesses, your _________________________ (fill in the blank) . . . and be victorious in Him!

There IS Peace

There are times when the world is so full of stress, angst, confusion, conflict, insert whatever adjective fits your situation . . . that we MUST find that place where we can seclude ourselves in the presence of our God and receive His peace and rest.

Back in My Birth State . . .

Home to help my folks for a while. Mom had heart surgery, is slowly beginning to regain some strength, but it may be a long road ahead.

It is a very bittersweet time, having to make due with calls, texts, emails and Skype with my beloved Francisco

S I G H !

But it is WONDERFUL to be with my sweet Mother . . . it is difficult to see her frail, but that does come with age and illness . . . and we KNOW that God is in control of all things and He is guiding us through this time as well.

Isn’t it just incredibly awesome that we can rest in the mighty loving arms of our Lord for all things?! I honestly do not know how people make it through situations without Him as the core of their existence!

Right now, I am praising Him for not only allowing my Mother to live, but that He made the way for me to come and be with her for a bit!

and others whom she loved that have now joined her there.

We miss that radiant smile, but on this, her birthday, we miss her more than there are words to express.

 

Abba Father, I KNOW that Deb is Home with You, singing with You, perhaps even shooting a few basketball hoops with you . . . fishing, for sure . . . having a joyous time in Your loving presence . . . give her a hug from me . . . thank You, Lord, that she is free from the sicknesses that caused her so much pain and grief. I do praise You for that! Thank You for being with her family today as they remember her.

 

 

Preparing for My Wedding Day?

The Bible – His LOVE letter to us – how often are we absorbing and applying it to our lives?

His Voice – gently whispering to our spirit – how carefully are we listening and following?

His Peace – ever present, no matter what we face – are we accepting it or allowing the cares of this world to push it aside?

His All Consuming Fire – are we submitting ourselves to it’s purifying work or quenching it with the icy water of life?

His Spirit – are we in tune to His guidance and direction or are we to busy making our own plans?

His Shepherds – are we yielding ourselves to their supervision, their teaching, their pastor-heart, or are we just attending the service and going our own way the rest of the week?

His Body – our brothers and sisters-in-Christ – are we embracing them, seeking relationships with them, allowing ourselves to be mentored and mentor others in turn, or do we have the “us four and no more” mentality?

His Altar – are we truly laying ourselves down, daily, at it in prayer? Submitting our lives into His plan for us, our wants, dreams, wishes, desires? Or are we ignoring Him and plowing ahead with our own ideas?

Dear ones . . . we ARE the bride of Christ . . . our Bridegroom awaits . . . are we preparing for His coming, for the marriage feast, in intimate times in His presence, or are we busy with ‘things’ and toss Him a fleeting moment or two and carry on with ‘business as usual’?

Are we faithful to Him with full devotion, or are we adulterous in our relationship by placing our affections elsewhere first?

He MUST be first in our lives.

He MUST be first in our activities.

He MUST be first in our thoughts.

He MUST be first in our plans.

He has proven His love for us, His bride . . . are we even showing Him love in return?

Being the bride of Christ should be the most exciting, all consuming thought in our hearts . . . to be preparing for our Bridegroom . . . what preparations are you making?
