A Look at Me

Please read “As The Tree Bends” under the poems section first, then come back here to this.

The reason I posted this poem I wrote years ago, is due to the passage of Scripture I read during one of my own devotion times. Ezekiel 47:9 (end) “…so everything will live where the river goes.” & 12, “and by the river, on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.”

Those verses, along with Psalm 1:1-3, “How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners., nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.”, have great impact on my faith walk. Let me share what they mean to me, and how my poem “As The Tree Bends” correlates with it:

We all have been through ‘stuff’. Times of struggle or trials, losses, disasters, devastation . . . it is a part of life. This is where we are bent – from the harsh winds and rain. During these times, we often feel that we are all alone – small and still. Yet, we CAN go on – letting our ‘roots’ go down deeply into the Soil (The Word of God), and drink from the Water (Jesus Christ said “come to me all that are thirsty and drink of the living waters”). Dear ones, this living water is the very same rivers/streams that these Scripture passages are speaking of. They flow directly to us from the Throne Room of God! They are alive and they bring us life. This is the way we know that we WILL be able to go on; mature, grow strong. This is the way we will KNOW that we will NOT break when we are bent over by the harsh winds and rain of this life. God Himself, through the Holy Spirit within us IS the source of everything we need!!! Glory to His Name!!!

So . . . let us all remember . . .

“Go on to what

I am not sure,

but like the tree,

I will mature.”

With God ALL things are possible! He can take all the enemy meant to harm us and work it for our good and His glory!
