Lost and Found Department

Do you ever find yourself standing still, looking up at the crossroads of “Lost” and “Found” and wonder which one you are really on? They run against one another, but they do intersect often (or so it seems in my life).

In the natural, I’m always ‘misplacing’ (loosing) things . . . perhaps you can relate:

Cell phone

Thumb drive

Keys

Eyeglasses

Shopping list

Something I purchased

. . . the list can go on and on and on . . . oh, I KNOW they are around – somewhere – but I can’t put my hands on them at the moment I need/want them.

Anyway, I digress.

We can not always readily get a hold of things we want but we can ALWAYS rest assured and be at peace with the ‘found’ department that we have full access to anytime day or night for our spiritual needs! Glory to God!!!

He is as close as the whisper of His Name!

His heart towards us is always ‘yes’ and ‘amen’ (2 Corinthians 1:20)!

His desire for us is a ‘hope and a future’ (Jeremiah 29:11)!

When we take up the position of praise . . . the position of worship . . . the position of the branches CONNECTED to The Vine (John 15). . . we are never ever lost!

Here’s how it can work for you (it works for me and countless others I know)!

  • surrounded by chaos? . . . let His peace be released in your situation dove in flight
  • faced with a bad report (job, personal, medical, financial)? . . . let His peace be released in your situation
  • uncertainties overwhelming you about the things are coming at you and decisions that you must make? . . .  let His peace be released in your situation.
  • too many distractions in your life just now? Get your worship on and allow His peace to be released in your situation!

Am I talking about a change of attitude? Something you need to say or do differently? Well, yes and no . . . it is an internal issue, not an external thing. His peace, that passes ALL understanding is what we must allow to guard our heart and mind (Philippians 2:7)! Only in Him and through Him can we walk in complete victory. He sent His Holy Spirit to indwell our very being and to give us everything we need for this life we now live (2 Peter 1:3).

Dear ones, learn to cast all your cares upon Him, and simply TRUST Him with every single aspect of your life . . . no one loves and cares for you more than He does!

CAUTION: The Current IS Dangerous!

Published May 25, 2016 by birdieklh

Okay, most of us who have heard the term (especially this year) “TURN AROUND – DON’T DROWN!”

emerged in flood waters

image from offgridweb.com

Due to the flash flood waters and how they may look docile enough . . .

“It’s just a little bit of water on the road, no problem, I can get across to where I need to go.” But then . . . all of a sudden out of seemingly nowhere comes this rapid rush – a grand deluge of water and before you know what hits you, you are immersed in water so deep there appears no way out! Now what?

Well, by God’s grace, someone may come in with helicopter and ropes, or a boat, or some other means and rescue you . . . or . . . you die.

≅       ≅       ≅       ≅    ≅     ≅       ≅

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,” Romans 1:20 (NKJV)

Let us apply this lesson of the flood waters to our lives in a spiritual way . . . This is a PERFECT example of Romans 1:20 because we “see”, we “hear” (and, some have even experienced) what devastating results can happen to a person, a pet, a vehicle, bridges washed out, even houses swept away . . . so let us be without excuse and open up our spirit eyes to see what God is saying to us.

When it comes to choices we make in our daily lives, have we heard any of the following statements? Have we acted upon any of these statements?

  • That’s not too bad
  • I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try it this one time
  • No one will know
  • It’s not like I’m committing murder or something

If you / we make choices based upon these statements, trying to reason away the temptations that come our way . . . we need to reflect upon this TRUTH:

CAUTION: The Current IS Dangerous!

We are to “Try all things, and keep that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. Now the very God of peace sanctify you throughout: and I pray God that your whole spirit and soul and body, may be kept blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  1 Thessalonians 5:21-23 (GNV) – Note: even the “appearance of”!

So – how do we do that?

“But as for you, O man of God, flee from these things; aim at and pursue righteousness [true goodness, moral conformity to the character of God], godliness [the fear of God], faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness.” 1 Timothy 6:11 (AMP)

In other words . . .  “TURN AROUND – DON’T DROWN!”

The temptations of this life are all around us – they don’t look like they would hurt us (too much) – but the swift current, the deluge of the sin (the flood waters, if you will) can overtake us before we know what hits us . . . we will need to be rescued, or we die!

Also, we are commissioned to be that lifeline to others as well . . . “But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.” Jude 17-23  (NKJV) (emphasis, mine)

Abba Father, help us to see, know and understand the dangerous currents within the temptations that come our way. Help us to stand FIRM, to FLEE and to help rescue others we see that have entered into the current . . . only by Your Holy Spirit can we do this . . . learning Your Word . . . applying it to the everyday choices in our lives. Through You, we can do all things! We KNOW we can trust you . . . Amen . . . we love you!

Climbing Every Mountain

Sometimes it seems that the mountains in front of us are insurmountable. Looming ahead, dark, ominous, frightful.

Full of uncertainties.

Full of questions.

Full of doubts.

Will I be able to get over this one? Will I fall? Will my ropes hold? Will I be able to find my grip? Will my feet find the right foot hold to push me upward? Will it … will I … fill in the blanks.

⇔            ⇔            ⇔            ⇔            ⇔

As a child, and into my teens, I would shimmy up anything. Houses – up on the rooftops. Trees – as high as I could climb before the branches became to small.  Large rock formations in the deserts – until the air was hard to breathe. There was no fear – only adventure. In fact, I loved the climb because I knew the sights I would behold at the highest point would be worth it all…so I would press on, climbing with joy (even if exhausted or in pain).

Somehow, I have forgotten that God gives us all things in the natural to understand the supernatural. (Romans 1:20 New King James Version (NKJV) – “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse”). Somehow when I am faced with mountains in my life now I forget that if I keep on climbing, God will have something amazing for me at the highest point…but I must keep pressing onward, climbing with joy (even when exhausted or in pain)! He allowed me so many examples to look back on from my youth – things He permitted me to learn and understanding about climbing difficult climb. I just didn’t realize that it was one of those Romans 1:20 lessons that I was to reach back upon and apply to my spiritual life today!

⇔            ⇔            ⇔            ⇔            ⇔

Yesterday . . . today . . . tomorrow . . . whatever mountain it is that is before me . . . I am choosing to trust that He IS my rope, He IS my foothold, He IS my grip, He IS my focus and He IS my VICTORY not only when I reach the end, but He IS my VICTORY as I go forward! He is with me every single moment of each and every precipice; every slippery slope; every jagged edged I come up against! I can and I will make this climb and come out on top in sweet victory because it is His plan for me and He only gives me what is best for me.

I choose not to question, but trust in His love.

I choose not to doubt, but to rest in His promises.

I choose not to be disappointed, but excited about what He has in store for me!

I am praising Him through the storms of life – I am worshiping Him in spite of the steep mountain climb I’m on – I am declaring His goodness in ALL things! He is my everything – I have no lack, no want – He supplies all I need when it is truly needed. He is Sovereign, and He has my heart completely.

Supernatural Peace

Published March 11, 2016 by birdieklh

When it comes, it COMES STRONG!

It is unexplainable.

It is overwhelming (in a good way).

It is as if everything else in the hectic, busy, frustrating life we live just seems to melt away into the background.

It is MOST welcome!

serenity and peace

image from atraversso.tumblr.com

We pray; we trust; we believe that God hears us and we KNOW that He has only good plans for our lives. Why is it, then, when He opens up the Heavens and rains down His Supernatural Peace upon us that we seem to be surprised?! Silly us!

Thank You, Lord, for Your awesome, marvelous, all consuming peace. That peace that ONLY You can give us – John 14:27 (Amplified) “Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.”]

With ALL I Am – I Worship

Published March 10, 2016 by birdieklh

Yesterday I did something I very rarely do . . . I placed a post on FaceBook that was sharing my heart (although it did have a wee bit of negative connotations) . . . One thing most people that REALLY know me will verify – I am ‘real’ – the good, the bad, yes, even the ugly – as the Lord takes me through things, I am open to share the fact that I have had some hurt, some doubts, some questions . . . BUT . . . they can also verify that I am first and foremost a worshiper of my King, Jesus. It is to Him I turn to . . . I worship Him with everything I am, with everything I have. I am His completely – in His presence is my strength, my joy, my encouragement. It is when I am in The King’s chambers that He downloads into my spirit His plans, His purposes, deeper revelations of Who He IS! That, my friends is where I belong – that is where I desire to remain.

On Tuesday morning, during a time of corporate worship with other pastors, ministers and leaders, the Lord gave me a very simple phrase that has stayed with me – I was actually about to sing it out when I felt lead to be quiet and speak of it later. This is what He gave me:

No matter what has gone before – regardless of what the future has in store – we are in Your presence, Lord, we want MORE! (I want more!)

In response to the ‘negative’ post from yesterday (here is what I posted – “I don’t usually post negative things, but these past two weeks have been building up a lot of ‘stuff’ … out and out attacks from people I really care a lot about … it is SO strange! How can my brothers and sisters in Christ allow the enemy to use them to attack one another?! We are to be working towards unity, harmony and sharing God’s love and support and encouragement with one another … I am, quite frankly, at a loss as to what to do next. Praying and trusting and seeking is where I’m at (along with lots of worship, of course).) – there are some follow up Scriptures He reminded me of . . . I wish to share those with you here as well:

Philippians 4:4-13  J.B. Phillips New Testament (PHILLIPS)

Delight yourselves in God, yes, find your joy in him at all times. Have a reputation for gentleness, and never forget the nearness of your Lord.  Don’t worry over anything whatever; tell God every detail of your needs in earnest and thankful prayer, and the peace of God which transcends human understanding, will keep constant guard over your hearts and minds as they rest in Christ Jesus.  Here is a last piece of advice. If you believe in goodness and if you value the approval of God, fix your minds on the things which are holy and right and pure and beautiful and good. Model your conduct on what you have learned from me, on what I have told you and shown you, and you will find the God of peace will be with you.”

Philippians 2:14-16  The Message (MSG)

Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night.”

Colossians 3:12-17 The Message (MSG)

So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it. Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.”

The whole point of my being open, honest, and upfront with my post yesterday was twofold. One, how can you know the victories, how can I testify to the victories if there were no struggles – if people think we always have it “all together” how can we encourage them?! and Two, how can we keep our spirit eyes open, our hearts open to the possible words, actions and attitudes that we may be placing on our brothers and sisters if we don’t take time to reflect once in awhile. Sometimes, we need reminding. dear ones, none of us is perfect. We wound one another – mostly (I believe) unintentionally. But what we DO with that wounding, how we react to those things – that is wherein our victory or defeat lay.

For me – when attacks hit us hard out of nowhere; when doubts arise; when conflicts happen – I have to put on my dancing shoes, grab my flags, and WORSHIP Him with everything within me. And then cover the other people in loving prayer, and seek reconciliation as The Lord leads – be quick to forgive! Do NOT let the enemy get his stinking little foot in the door!

Are YOU in The River?

Published February 23, 2016 by birdieklh

A precious sister-in-Christ recently posted some photos from a trip she took, with her full permission, I am using three of them. Thank you, Sandy for your generosity!

My church has quite often spoken about God’s River. How it is present all around us and yet we don’t all jump in and receive Its blessings. Well, today I wish to address some new aspects of rivers that I myself had not meditated upon before. (Thank you, Pastor Vera Segundo, for your awesome message on Sunday!)

1 – The river (a river) will flow where it wants to flow!

2 – It makes a path for itself, cutting out places for itself as it twists and turns through reeds, rocks, etc.

task river1 by Sandy Garland Blaser

3 – It will make even the roughest rocks smooth as it flows steadily along its route!

So it is with our lives . . . IF . . . we allow ourselves to get in The River of God’s Love. It will lead us to the destination He has for us, shaping us as we go, smoothing out our rough edges, creating vessels that will allow His Beauty to shine through. But we DO need to – by faith – not only take a step into The River, but to completely immerse ourselves within Its powerful flow. It has a planned path, a planned destination, a planned purpose. It brings forth energy, power, LIFE – healing flows within Its banks! Mercy overflows its banks! Are YOU ready to jump in? Are you still dangling your feet? Ah, my friends, the water (God’s Living Water) is marvelous – come on in! You will never be the same!

[ The River of Life ] And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
My heart is overflowing with worship to my King for the flow of His River in and through my own life! I can not keep silent – I must praise Him with every ounce of my being! Singing from the depth of my spirit to His Throne . . . blessing, honor, glory and power, be unto The Lamb, forever and ever. Have Your way in my life, Lord – shape me, mold me, use my life for Your glory – this is the cry of my heart. Amen.

He Reveals Himself EVERY Day!

Published February 21, 2016 by birdieklh

As we look around us – are we aware of His presence? Do you see His glory? Can you feel Him surrounding you with His beautiful, loving gifts? In the morning – He shines His love upon us . . . open your spirit eyes to see. A friend of mine captured this morning shot . . . can’t you just hear His words, “Good Morning, My precious child, behold, I am here waiting to spend time with you!”

Morning – photo by Sandra Garcia

AS we walk throughout our day – do you LOOK for His Hand? The displays He has put in our paths to behold His beauty? It is there if you just allow yourself to see. I took this photo yesterday – fragrant, simple little flowers, yet they speak to my heart of His love and care for me.

Fragrant Flowers – personal photo

My heart is full to overflowing with His grace! His presence is so real to me…it is as if every single step I take brings me deeper into His presence. It is overwhelming – it is glorious!

He is ever with us still, as the sun is setting for the night He once again shows us that He is watching over us, caring for us, revealing Himself to us . . . as this photo captures so beautifully . . .

Evening – photo by Jesus Perales

So as you begin your journey into the day ahead of you, take the time to look around and behold Elohim – The Creator of all things – Abba Father, ‘Daddy’, God is painting His love story to YOU every day.

Do you see? Do you hear? If not – ask Him to give you eyes wide open to see in the spirit all that He has for You. Ask Him to give you spirit ears to hear His melody of love. Ask Him to give you an understanding heart to grasp just how marvelously He adores you!
