Ah, there is NOTHING like the presence of the Lord God Almighty! To be so completely immersed with His love, His peace, His joy, His hope, His righteousness . . . we cannot possibly sit by and do nothing . . . no, we sing, we shout, we dance . . . with complete abandon!
Arms uplifted, songs of adoration, shouts of joy, our feet taking us swirling before Him; we express our love and gratitude as we dance with our King! We delight ourselves in Him. We lose ourselves in the awesomeness of His presence! Even if there are hundreds of others around, it is simply “Him and me” to those who would step into His loving arms and allow Him to completely embrace them. No one and no ‘thing’ will come between the two of you as you dance. The adoration you feel overflows until there is nothing left within you. Those who enter in, understand, those who chose not to enter in, do not understand.
“David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the Lord with all his might, while he and the entire house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets…When David returned home to his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, ‘how the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, disrobing in the sight of the slave girls of his servants as nay vulgar fellow would!’ David said to Michal, ‘It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel – I will celebrate before the Lord. I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.’” 2 Samuel 14-15 & 20-22
Michal chose not to enter in . . . therefore she did not understand, and she actually looked down upon David. The slave girls were lost in the company of the Lord God and their king, David’s, time of celebration, so they understood.
I love Thursday mornings at my church, we have a time of prophetic worship where we simply come together to love on the Lord. We sing, sometimes we are on our knees, sometimes on our faces, sometimes we dance before Him. Other times we are quiet, still, soaking up, basking in the loving arms of our Lord. At these times I can truly relate to David and his complete abandonment before God. When we purpose within our hearts to totally open ourselves up to meet with The Lord, we cannot help but break out with our entire being in praise, worship and adoration before Him. He is our Bridegroom – our Everything! There is such freedom in allowing yourself to rejoice in His presence with complete abandon!
So, make time, get in His presence with NO distractions – allow Him to love on you, immerse yourself in Him, and then dance with your King! Sing before Him, worship Him with everything you have! You will never be the same again! \o/
