Israel – News Reports & Prayer Requests

Published December 29, 2016 by birdieklh

This in the headlines today from Messianic Bible (aka news@biblesforisrael.com):

“Our Israel forces are battling ISIS on the Golan Heights.  Our ministry staff could not drive there to be with their family over Hanukkah as the army said, “turn the car around, it is too dangerous.”

The head of ISIS stated that their NUMBER ONE goal is to conquer Jerusalem
(where our ministry is located), kill all of the Jews and then take over the
whole land of Israel and kill every single Jew.

“We will find you in every house, behind every bush,
he said.”  We will kill every one of you; that is why
God brought you Jews back to Israel.””

This in today (along with a long detailed list of specific requests) from Corp Prayer Resource:

“This is a fervent call to prayer, on behalf of Israel, to all faithful
intercessors, from now until the transition of power of the US presidency on
January 20, 2017″

Dear ones, there is an urgency to our Christian responsibilities! We need to pray as never before for Israel! It is our duty!  Psalm 122:6

Where I Find Myself . . .

Between a rock and a hard place (or so the saying goes).

Yikes! As a woman of strong (or so I thought) faith, this image of a stray sheep stuck where it doesn’t belong truly fits my ‘feelings’right now. I truly hate to admit that, but you see, circumstances beyond my control – don’t you love that phrase? – chased me right into a hard place and now I feel as though the very breath is being crushed out of my being!

Wondering about the how, when and why . . . tears flowing . . . yet I do still have that precious, unending, overwhelming, beyond understanding PEACE within. It is a very amazing thing . . . this battle between spirit and flesh!

What to do, what to do . . . . Oh! The ONLY thing one can do in a time like this . . . “having done all, to stand!” Ephesians 6:13 . . . and, stand . . . I am! Here is what I am choosing to stand upon:

My God is the ONE Who provides for all my needs!

My God is ALWAYS watching over me, He is over me like a banner, a shield!

  • Song of Solomon 2:4 Jehovah Nissi and I build my life as an altar before Him because He is my banner! Exodus 17:15
    • Actually, Jehovah Nissi also stands for “The Lord my miracle”, according to Blue Letter Bible  (and I need a miracle right now!)
  • He is my shield, my buckler, my rock, my high tower, my place of refuge!!! He gives His angels charge over me! Psalm 91
  • Nothing can EVER separate me from His love!!! Romans 8:38-39

These are but a few of the promises I am clinging to . . . and I am trusting with all my heart . . . He is ever Faithful . . . this is just one of those times when the trusting comes along with a wee bit of “Lord, I believe, help Thou my unbelief.” because my flesh cannot comprehend all that is happening . . . but I am praising Him through it all . . . KNOWING He always has my best in mind . . .

Abba Father, thank You for Your love. Thank You for Your Word. Thank You for Your peace as I go through this valley. Thank You for washing me with waves of Your peace, and thank You for forgiving my moments of doubt. I know beyond any shadow of any doubt that this too will pass and all will be for my good and Your glory. In Jesus Name, Your Handmaiden awaits Your plan, amen.

Hearing The Heart of my Father

As I sit here, rain falling steadily, I got to thinking:

“Why in the world are more of us NOT taking the time to sit in the presence of our Lord, truly listening to hear his heart?!”

I mean, let’s be honest here . . . we love the Lord, we attend services, we listen to Christian music, we (for the most part) select to hang out with like-minded brothers and sisters in the Lord . . . but, what about the MOST important FRIEND we have? What about our time with HIM???

Sure, we lift up a whispered prayer for our day. We may even speak a few names before we rush out the door, asking for protection or healing or provision. Then what? Honestly? The majority of us simply get on with life – with the ‘things’ of this world that we must address during the course of day-to-day living.

Oh, how we must grieve the Father’s Heart! Over and over in His Word we are given examples of great men and women of Faith who also had to face ‘things’ (the regular things of life) yet they took the TIME to seek out the Father’s Heart.

Let’s take a look at a few:

Judges 20:27         –          1 Samuel 22:10          –       Nehemiah 2:4          –       Daniel 1:17

Within the pages of our Bibles we have example after example; Old Testament as well as the New, where men and women of God took the time to seek the Father – AND took the time to heed His response – they LISTENED and then they acted upon His instructions!

The results were phenomenal!

Dear ones, His wisdom is ours –

         if we seek it!

His protection is ours –

    if we seek it!

His peace is ours –

    if we seek it!

His provision is ours –

  if we seek it!

What is the MAIN reason we should seek the Lord??? I love what this verse says:

But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. (NKJV)
… to me, the “but from there” means I can apply this verse to any situation I face – there is NOTHING to big or too small for me to bring before my God! If I reach out in faith, wholeheartedly – He is ever faithful to answer!     if we seek Him and LISTEN

When False Accusations Fly

WHAT?!?!?

Say again?

NO!!!

Oh, Lord, help!

The ears hear, the mind tries to comprehend what has been said, the body starts shaking in unbelief. “Now what, Lord?!” Yes, it is to my Lord I run to – I have NO choice. He alone has my life, my heart, my security, my peace, my strength – when I choose to run to Him, jump in His arms of love – allow His peace to engulf me – that is where I find all I need…

you see … there have been attacks left and right, from the front, from the rear, from everywhere! It, in the natural, has been absolute insanity! Accusations that just are so OPPOSITE of our character, who we are, what we represent, how we live our lives – unimaginable – yet there the are, in our face with lie upon lie. The really sad part about all this is that they actually believe (or so it seems) that they are speaking truth.

Broken hearts are mended
as in His arms
I’m attended
His peace
His joy
His grace
unfolds –
I know all is well
with my soul

No weapon against me
that’s fashioned will stand
for He holds me, always,
in the palm of His hand.

He is the shelter of refuge
for me every day
and I become stronger there
… as I stay.

An anchor in the storm
An all encompassing rampart
Over my life
Over my heart.

Nothing will He allow
to utterly destroy
He offers protection,
His Love, His peace, His joy
even when
storms rage all around
He gets all the glory
as His praises I sound

Yes, I’ll shout it from the mountain tops
He IS my everything
Yes, no matter what I face
His praises I WILL sing!

YES! WE ARE VICTORIOUS!

“The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and upon my high places he will cause me to walk victorious in my instruments of music.”  Habakkuk 3:19

“And I saw and, behold, a white horse; and he that was seated upon him had a bow, and a crown was given unto him, and he went forth victorious, that he might also overcome.” Revelation 6:2

Are YOU in The River?

Published February 23, 2016 by birdieklh

A precious sister-in-Christ recently posted some photos from a trip she took, with her full permission, I am using three of them. Thank you, Sandy for your generosity!

My church has quite often spoken about God’s River. How it is present all around us and yet we don’t all jump in and receive Its blessings. Well, today I wish to address some new aspects of rivers that I myself had not meditated upon before. (Thank you, Pastor Vera Segundo, for your awesome message on Sunday!)

1 – The river (a river) will flow where it wants to flow!

2 – It makes a path for itself, cutting out places for itself as it twists and turns through reeds, rocks, etc.

3 – It will make even the roughest rocks smooth as it flows steadily along its route!

So it is with our lives . . . IF . . . we allow ourselves to get in The River of God’s Love. It will lead us to the destination He has for us, shaping us as we go, smoothing out our rough edges, creating vessels that will allow His Beauty to shine through. But we DO need to – by faith – not only take a step into The River, but to completely immerse ourselves within Its powerful flow. It has a planned path, a planned destination, a planned purpose. It brings forth energy, power, LIFE – healing flows within Its banks! Mercy overflows its banks! Are YOU ready to jump in? Are you still dangling your feet? Ah, my friends, the water (God’s Living Water) is marvelous – come on in! You will never be the same!

[ The River of Life ] And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
My heart is overflowing with worship to my King for the flow of His River in and through my own life! I can not keep silent – I must praise Him with every ounce of my being! Singing from the depth of my spirit to His Throne . . . blessing, honor, glory and power, be unto The Lamb, forever and ever. Have Your way in my life, Lord – shape me, mold me, use my life for Your glory – this is the cry of my heart. Amen.

Broken Wall

Published December 16, 2015 by birdieklh

broken-wall Something incredible happened yesterday . . . I had a session of inner healing that I had never even imagined/understood that I had need of. I learned about a wall (of protection) I had put up as early as the age of 3! Brick by brick as things happened, hurt by hurt I built this wall.

Over the years of my faith walk I had knocked holes it it little by little, yet the wall itself was still there – although I did not even realize it . . . until yesterday.

Once I saw it, realized it was still up (even though it wasn’t completely solid) and I could not see beyond it, I asked Jesus to help me get rid of it. With a few hard, swift kicks it came down. What was on the other side? What had been there all the time awaiting me? A beautiful meadow set in  rolling hills – breathtakingly beautiful  -a special place for my Lord and I to be together, meadow hills2 to dance, to twirl, to sing, to walk, to share our hearts – a place of perfect joy, peace and protection – so much better that an ugly wall that did more harm than anything else!

Oh, I wish I could paint, or even sketch what I actually visualized – it was so amazing – I know beyond a shadow of any doubt that I am my Beloved’s and He is mine! That He is so pleased with my heart that gets lost in His presence – what a joy unspeakable and full of glory! All I can say is …

Thank You, Lord!

What a World!

Published November 16, 2015 by birdieklh

Our hearts are grieved over the state of this world we live in!!!

“When you hear of wars and disturbances, do not be terrified; for these things must take place first, but the end does not follow immediately.” Luke 21:9 NIV

“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NAS

It’s not like we did not have any warnings . . . Jesus (and even the prophets of old) spoke of the times we are now facing . . . we should not let us overwhelm us.

What then shall we do?

P R A Y !!!

and . . . be in the Word! Seek out His Word for yourself today – ask Holy Spirit to give you His promises to cling to, to stand upon, to make your very own for your peace. His Word is POWER – His Word will NOT return void – what He says He WILL accomplish! Be at peace, dear ones, and continue to know that as we choose to make Him our High Tower, our Dwelling Place; as we take refuge under the Shadow of His Wing – abide in His presence – He WILL be our protector. . . and, even if we are caught up in death, we still WIN! Remember:

“Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, “FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.” But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35-39 NAS

Abba Father, we come before You today, hearts heavy with the news reports, the scenes of devastation, yet we KNOW You – Your love for us, and we rest in Your love and in the promises of Your Word. Lord, use this situation (these situations, natural disasters as well) to draw more unto You. Comfort as only You can, Holy Spirit, and continue to show us ways in which we can intercede and be of assistance. Lord, Jesus, You told us of these times, yet You also promised us Your PEACE (within our hearts, that passes ALL understanding). It is to that peace we cling now, as we pour out our heart felt prayers for our brothers and sisters in France. Thank You for being their peace, and thank You for Your protection. Amen and amen.
