Perfectly Fitted Together

Published August 19, 2017 by birdieklh

God has a plan and a purpose behind every word He allowed to be penned . . . an illustration for us to gasp a hold of . . . to meditate upon . . . to allow to sink deep down inside of our spirit and to change the way we think, act and treat one another in our Christian lives!

Dovetail Stone Work

image from slide share

Let us take a deeper look into the this passage mentioned in the photo, and specific emphasis on phrases within. This is a message to us ALL. We are the brethren! There is to be NO division between us – NONE.

See that “DOVETAIL” work there? Have you ever realized the STRENGTH behind that kind of fitted together?! It is the Greek word, Strong’s # 2675 katartizó translated “perfectly joined together” which, in depth, means  – like shown in this illustration – a detailed, “properly adjusted, exactly fit to work together, adjusted exactly ‘down’ to fully function!” (just a partial snip-it from the full definition).

Dear ones, we are to be one in Christ Jesus! We are to be LIKE MINDED!  God is calling us forth to become new wine skins He can use to hold and pour forth the New Wine He is getting ready to pour out upon this world for His Divine purposes . . . but He can only do it with those that are ready to walk TOGETHER in ONENESS of heart and mind. Those who are willing to put down their prejudices, pride, wants, desires, their “me, me, me” attitudes, and allow God to fit us together as He desires and function together as He sees fit!

There is a song, often used at weddings, but most appropriate for this message as well. I would like to share some of the words here:

Make us one, make us one
Make us one, undivided body
Make us one, make us one
For the sake of Your name make us one

Make us love, make us love
Make us love so the world will know we love You
Make us love, make us love
For the sake of Your name make us love

Abba Father, open our ears to HEAR, open our spirit eyes to SEE, open our HEARTS to fully grasp and understand what You are getting ready to do . . . what You are asking us to lay down at this time in our lives and HOW to fully embrace one another in Your love and go forth as ONE with You and become the Bride You have asked us to be – ready to BE what You desire us to be for Your Kingdom, in Jesus Name, amen!!!

Perfect Contentment

Published August 16, 2017 by birdieklh

When I saw this photo, memories came flooding back into my innermost being of sheer, contentment . . . times spent up in the mountains (I grew up in California) and absolutely LOVED the those mountain hikes.

growing up memories

from pinterest.com

Cool, fresh mountain air permeating my being, refreshing my lungs, seemingly pumping my heart with newness of life. Of course it wasn’t, but it felt like it. The crispness of the water, oh, how I loved every single moment of it. The twill of the birds singing, the whisper of the leaves as they rustled in the light movement of the breeze. I could spend hours sitting on the rocks in contemplation of the beauty of it all….sheer….wonderful….

CONTENTMENT!

There are many times in the busy “ness” (or “mess”) of our lives that we wish we could stop everything and escape into a place where we could sit somewhere quiet and gaze into a crystal clear lake or pond like this, look at the reflection of the surroundings and contemplate what we see . . . instead of what actually IS around us at present . . . things that must be done, chaos, bills, noise, relationships, obligations, medical issues, etc. it seems impossible to even consider being able to reach such a place of contentment . . . BUT . . . notice this whole time I’ve been talking about contentment in the ‘natural’. It is a nice thing, truly a very nice thing, and I treasure the memories! Don’t get me wrong. In fact, if offered a vacation to go back to one of those places, you bet I’d jump on it! However, I have a secret I wish to share with you that is far greater than this natural contentment of a mountain scene like described here in my memories! It is one that is OBTAINABLE for us today, right here, whenever you desire!!! …and it is a PERFECT CONTENTMENT!!!!!

“Okay, already!” I can hear you from this side of the page, “Tell me where it is!!!”

It is found only ONE place . . . in your close intimate times of worship with the Lord!!! Yes! When you shut yourself away and focus all your attention on Him – you totally immerse yourself in His presence – worship Him in spirit in truth – from the depth of your being. Surround yourself with the essence of His glory!

You don’t know how? You have never done that before? It is not that hard, once you have done it, you find it easier and easier to do – it can become the most enjoyable part of your day!!! In fact, it has become such a part of my life that my office space in my home has become a sanctuary of His presence – people often comment that they can “feel” the difference when they step through the door! Even when I am working on things, I sometimes have difficulty focusing on what I’m working on because I find myself a wee bit lost in His presence and having to shake myself back into the earthly realm to get earthly work accomplished (much to my chagrin). You see, dear ones, there is NOTHING like the glorious presence of God Almighty! There is pure love, pure grace pure anointing, pure power, pure & PERFECT CONTENTMENT! It is there we receive everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3),  peace (Psalm 119:165), guidance & direction (Psalm 119:105), protection (Psalm 91), hope (Jeremiah 29:11) and so much more!

I try to have worship music always going in the background . . . when not working I use something I can sing along with – when I’m working I use instrumental so the atmosphere is permeated with praise offered up before the Throne of God . . . it keeps my spirit in the mode of worship at all times . . .  my preference is ‘Soaking Worship Music’ like we use at our local Tabernacle House of Prayer based upon David’s Tabernacle – 24/7 worship offered up to the Lord – keeping the fire on the altar day and night – honoring God at all times for Who He IS. I have found that the more consistent I am in my own personal worship (and with our corporate worship times) the deeper I go into His presence, the richer my relationship becomes with my Lord and the easier it is for me to HEAR Holy Spirit when He speaks to my heart! the richer my contentment in Him becomes!!!!

I invite you to enter in . . . to find your place in His Perfect Contentment that He has for you!!!!!

“One Who Knows The Heart”

Published July 10, 2017 by birdieklh

The Greek Word is (Strong’s # 2589) pronounced “kardiognostes” (notice how similar this word is to our ‘heart doctors’ today? Cardiologist? hmmm) . . . and it is the word used in Acts 15:8 Peter was speaking to the Jerusalem Council in regards to their belief that the gentile believers should be circumcised.

He went on to share how greatly God had moved among these gentile believers, how the Almighty God had made absolutely NO distinction, NO difference whatsoever between them simply because of their NOT being of Jewish heritage . . . ONLY based upon their FAITH and acceptance of Jesus Christ!

W O W

Do you realize that WE still tend to be like that council in Jerusalem today? Yes, us! We walk in judgment of those we see that perhaps do not ‘look’ like us. Or that do not go to churches like we do, worship like we do.

Let me tell you of some amazing, eye-opening things that the Lord has been doing here in San Antonio (and around the world) that have caused me to truly become one who has been crying out to the Lord to give me eyes to see others hearts as He does . . . I truly want to be “one who sees and knows the hearts of others!”

I have seen people young, old and everywhere in between dancing, singing, weeping, pouring out their hearts before the Lord, praying for others, ministering to others – regardless of the color of their skin, the way they were dressed, or the condition of their health . . . they just LOVED on them!!! Whether their style of worship was rap, rock, gospel, a banjo, drums, an iPad playing, a keyboard, tambourine, old-style hymns, new free-flowing spirit songs from their hearts to the Lord – it mattered not – it was all done to the Glory of their Lord and Savior – TRUE WORSHIP!

Souls brought into the Kingdom of God . . .

Holy Spirit showed up MIGHTILY . . .

People set FREE from addictions, bondage’s, fears that had held them for years . . .

People from all backgrounds standing side by side, worshiping the Lord in UNITY!

Dear ones . . . it is happening NOW! And it will continue to grow as we continue to individually seek the face of God, as we continually get in the Word ourselves, seeking His Heart of LOVE and then begin with His eyes to SEE into the hearts of others and truly love others as He intended us to do!

Yesterday I heard a young man (18) rap of his struggle and his total dependence upon God for ALL things . . . it filled my spirit to overflowing . . . my eyes are filling even now at the remembrance of it – we (plural) ARE the Bride of Christ and ONLY when we are in full UNITY can we along with the Holy Spirit say “Come Lord Jesus, Come” . . . . Revelation 22:17

We Are in This Together!

Published December 10, 2016 by birdieklh

We come from different backgrounds. We go to different churches. We have sat under different denominational teachings – BUT – we ARE to be in UNITY when it comes to our role in this world. As Christians (as with our armed forces) it should not matter what the uniform we wear is! We are in God’s Army, Jesus Christ is our Commander-in-Chief and we need to face the enemy (satan) TOGETHER!

If we can just try and wrap our brains around this principle:

free-powerpoint-presentations-about-the-us-military-GLs6vW-clipart.gif

In the history of Americans in wartime, there is an underlying sense of “get the job done”. Men and women will walk side-by-side, fight side-by-side, bleed side-by-side, cover one another, do everything they can to ensure the protection of one another, REGARDLESS of the uniform!

THINK ABOUT IT!!!

How many of us would be willing to link arms with our brothers and sisters (IN Christ) who happen to worship differently than we do?

Can you imagine the IMPACT our unity would have upon this world?

We already have one small example through the results of the presidential election . . . Christians got down on their knees, hooked up with one another at prayer rallies, chimed in onto conference calls for prayer over our nation and the election. Truly humbling themselves, crying out for wisdom, direction and God’s perfect will to be done. The result? A man who was completely godless has given his heart to Jesus. A man who acknowledged that he didn’t need …. fill in the blank, there are so many different things stated . . . now is surrounding himself with Godly counsel! The Vice-President elect (and his wife) are both dynamic, on fire, firm in their faith, Spirit-filled believers.

Another example is right here in San Antonio. A Godly woman, against all odds, was chosen as an interim Mayor, only to be surrounded by the body of Christ with support, love and much prayer – she IS our Mayor. And, just like with Joseph and Daniel, God’s favor has been upon her so much so that even opposition is now supporting her wholeheartedly for the upcoming reelection process!

So . . . let us focus back upon what this article started with . . . We are ALL in this TOGETHER!

As we come alongside one another in love, forgetting (laying aside) our differences (the uniform we wear) and place our thoughts, intents and purposes towards the things God desires of us – namely LOVE – we CAN pray together, worship together, cover one another, support one another AND advance the Kingdom of God!

I’m in . . . are you?

What Are We Offering?

Rotten  Fruit     VS …

A-fruit-bowl-007

Good, Fresh, Nutritious Fruit (image from http://www.theguardian.com)

It has been said that a picture is worth 1,000 words . . . so in a way, my blog today doesn’t need much to be added . . . BUT . . . I do wish to give you some scripture references to help you ponder the meaning behind todays subject and the photos here.

Malachi 1:6-12 New King James Version (NKJV)

Polluted Offerings –  “A son honors his father,  and a servant his master. If then I am the Father, where is My honor? And if I am a Master, where is My reverence? Says the Lord of hosts to you priests who despise My name. Yet you say, ‘In what way have we despised Your name?’  “You offer defiled food on My altar, but say, ‘In what way have we defiled You?’ by saying, ‘The table of the Lord is contemptible.’  And when you offer the blind as a sacrifice, is it not evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? Offer it then to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you favorably?” Says the Lord of hosts.  “But now entreat God’s favor, that He may be gracious to us. While this is being done by your hands, will He accept you favorably?” Says the Lord of hosts.  “Who is there even among you who would shut the doors, so that you would not kindle fire on My altar in vain? I have no pleasure in you,” says the Lord of hosts, “Nor will I accept an offering from your hands.  For from the rising of the sun, even to its going down, My name shall be great among the Gentiles; in every place incense shall be offered to My name, and a pure offering; for My name shall be great among the nations,” says the Lord of hosts. “But you profane it, in that you say, ‘The table of the Lord[a] is defiled; And its fruit, its food, is contemptible.’

Questions – is our worship “lip service”? Or, is it genuinely from the heart? Do we sing the songs at church with our complete focus on the Lord, or on people around us (or circumstances that our brains are trying to process from things happening during the week)? Is our praise and worship to our King sweet? Or is our offering a plate of rotten fruit?

Are we walking the walk or just talking the talk? Not only in our worship to the Lord, but also as His representatives here – how are we living our lives? What kind of fruit are we offering not only to God but to those around us?

⇒   SO . . .

If we truly love the Lord, are we conscious of what it is that our lives are offering up to Him? Or, are we going along day to day with our actions not exactly reflecting His love and His glory? Sure, we may ‘say’ the right things. We may even ‘do’ some acts that may appear to be those of a good strong Christian . . . but . . . REMEMBER . . . God looks at the inside of us! Our hearts! Our innermost being. Our inner attitudes. The good, the bad . . . He sees and knows how we really are and who we really are INSIDE – when no one is watching us, observing our behaviors, monitoring our speech – He ALWAYS sees!

2 Samuel 16:7 NKJV   –    But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Another very important ‘fruit’ issue is our inner attitudes. The Lord addresses this point very plainly. Read and contemplate if/how you see yourselves in the two following passages:

Romans 12:3  NKJV     –   For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. (then the Apostle Paul goes on to say WHY in the following verses).

Luke 14:7 – 11  NKJV    –   So He told a parable to those who were invited, when He noted how they chose the best places, saying to them: “When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the best place, lest one more honorable than you be invited by him; and he who invited you and him come and say to you, ‘Give place to this man,’ and then you begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher.’ Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Dear ones, when we see ourselves as more important – we are NOT walking according to God’s Word! We need a different heart attitude – a different perspective – HIS!!! My prayer is that I may have God’s eyes to see, His heart of compassion, His understanding, His ears to hear the cry of the people’s’ heart! Only then can I get my attitude to line up with His Word and truly walk in His love towards others. Then and only THEN will the fruit my life offers be fresh, inviting and full of nourishment to those around me!

Before Our King

How can we NOT simply drop to our knees in adoration of the Glory of our Lord and King?

When He meets with us, His Sweet Holy Spirit wraps Himself lovingly around our being, we can do nothing but melt in His presence!

At a conference this weekend that is exactly where I was . . . on my knees . . . on my face . . . tears of deepest gratitude flowing from my eyes, soaking the floor before me. My hearts cry was, “Just You and me, Lord, just You and me. I am overwhelmed by Your presence. Thank You, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!”

There are times (like these) when I do not ever want to open my eyes, stand back on my feet and march back into ‘life’. I know there is much work to be done in His Kingdom, and of that I am grateful to be a part, but to have to leave those times of deepest intimacy (my heavenly reality) back to worldly reality of ‘things to do’, ‘people to see’, ‘places to go’, ohhhh, my heart cries, “No, Abba, more time with You!!!” But, that is quite selfish! How can people hear if I do not speak? How can people know if I do not show them? God gives us those intimate times to help us “Find our Voice” (the name of the conference I was at, sponsored by Deep Grace Ministries) and then go forth boldly, lovingly proclaiming that which He has asked us to do!

So, I must make the choice to step out of my own desires, my own selfishness (of wanting to dwell in that solitude of just ‘Him and me’) and go on about the tasks set before me. It is all about Him – His Kingdom – His Glory, and He desires all to come to know Him.

As the song says, “Lord, here I am, down on my knees again, surrendering all, surrendering all, and find me here as You draw me near, I’m desperate for You, I surrender.” This, too, is my hearts cry. Along with that I say – HERE AM I, LORD, SEND ME!

When Righteous Indignation Arises

There are times when things make us truly angry . . . we want nothing else but to scream out at the top of our lungs . . . to ‘blow off steam’ . . . to cry rivers of tears . . . to lash out . . . to hurt back . . . whatever your way of handling conflict is, there is truly only ONE thing we need to do when our world has seemingly been turned on its head . . . that is to:

GIVE IT OVER TO GOD

Know that if you’re hurting, He’s hurting too . . .

If your heart is breaking over something, think of how much more His heart is breaking over it . . .

Ask Him for His heart in the matter. Ask Him to reveal to You His love for the people around you. Ask Him to help you walk in His ways at all times, even the difficult ones like what we are facing right now in our nation / our world.

Dear ones, we MUST remember that it is His KINDNESS that leads to repentance.

Yes, we need to have righteous indignation over the situation at hand, but we must also stop, breathe in His presence, rest there, then proceed as He directs us . . . and I can guarantee that it will be a FIRM but LOVING response.

~ hate the sin . . . but . . . love the sinner ~

Remember the grace He has given us and be His ambassador . . . get yourself into worship mode, seek His presence, saturate yourself in Him and then we will be able to stand firm in His love, not showing any actions or attitudes that can be perceived as hate or malice for that only gives the enemy more ammo in his artillery.
