Twisted Words Lead to False Belief

Published March 10, 2017 by birdieklh

My heart is so heavy, Lord,
as people twist Your Words
Words meant to bring Healing & Hope
now being used as as vicious swords
against the Body You are building

We are called to walk in unity
as we follow after You
Yet the twisting of Your Words
even if only but a few
are rendering a gaping wound

The love we have for these precious ones
that have been led away
from the fullness of Your Truth
as the enemy has made them sway
We, with tears, cry out to You
and on our knees, we pray
for You to continue to woo them back
and in Your family stay

Oh, Abba, even back with Eve
the enemy twisted Your Words to deceive
Again, in the wilderness, he twisted Your Word
in tempting Jesus, our Lord
But Jesus, firm in You, stood the ground
and to You remained true

Father, some are not that strong in You,
Have not recognized YOUR voice
and when the enemy came in
they made the wrong choice
to follow after the twisted words
taken out of context
and try to take others along with them
is their sole intent

Keep Your children protected, Lord
from being lead astray
by the lies, deceit, and twisted words
that others have begun to say!

Lord, Your Word tells us that YOUR sheep KNOW Your voice! Just like, in life, as we spend time with others, we can recognize  their voice even in a crowded room, in passing and on the phone – we can only truly recognize Your voice as we stay in committed relationship with You! Spending time WITH You in worship, in prayer, in studying the Bible (within the context, not pulling things out here and there), and in quiet reflection, listening to Holy Spirit speaking into our hearts.

Those that are not quite there yet, in that relationship, Abba, I pray protection over their hearts and minds. Those that are, Abba, I pray love and mercy over the hurt and anger that wishes to arise (from our flesh) against those that have been misled. Oh, Lord, only You can correct these situations. Only You can reveal Truth. Only You can heal the wounds. We place our trust in You, alone, Abba, and we pour out our hearts in worship before You our King! Amen

We Are in This Together!

Published December 10, 2016 by birdieklh

We come from different backgrounds. We go to different churches. We have sat under different denominational teachings – BUT – we ARE to be in UNITY when it comes to our role in this world. As Christians (as with our armed forces) it should not matter what the uniform we wear is! We are in God’s Army, Jesus Christ is our Commander-in-Chief and we need to face the enemy (satan) TOGETHER!

If we can just try and wrap our brains around this principle:

In the history of Americans in wartime, there is an underlying sense of “get the job done”. Men and women will walk side-by-side, fight side-by-side, bleed side-by-side, cover one another, do everything they can to ensure the protection of one another, REGARDLESS of the uniform!

How many of us would be willing to link arms with our brothers and sisters (IN Christ) who happen to worship differently than we do?

Can you imagine the IMPACT our unity would have upon this world?

We already have one small example through the results of the presidential election . . . Christians got down on their knees, hooked up with one another at prayer rallies, chimed in onto conference calls for prayer over our nation and the election. Truly humbling themselves, crying out for wisdom, direction and God’s perfect will to be done. The result? A man who was completely godless has given his heart to Jesus. A man who acknowledged that he didn’t need …. fill in the blank, there are so many different things stated . . . now is surrounding himself with Godly counsel! The Vice-President elect (and his wife) are both dynamic, on fire, firm in their faith, Spirit-filled believers.

Another example is right here in San Antonio. A Godly woman, against all odds, was chosen as an interim Mayor, only to be surrounded by the body of Christ with support, love and much prayer – she IS our Mayor. And, just like with Joseph and Daniel, God’s favor has been upon her so much so that even opposition is now supporting her wholeheartedly for the upcoming reelection process!

So . . . let us focus back upon what this article started with . . . We are ALL in this TOGETHER!

As we come alongside one another in love, forgetting (laying aside) our differences (the uniform we wear) and place our thoughts, intents and purposes towards the things God desires of us – namely LOVE – we CAN pray together, worship together, cover one another, support one another AND advance the Kingdom of God!

I’m in . . . are you?

Hearing The Heart of my Father

As I sit here, rain falling steadily, I got to thinking:

“Why in the world are more of us NOT taking the time to sit in the presence of our Lord, truly listening to hear his heart?!”

I mean, let’s be honest here . . . we love the Lord, we attend services, we listen to Christian music, we (for the most part) select to hang out with like-minded brothers and sisters in the Lord . . . but, what about the MOST important FRIEND we have? What about our time with HIM???

Sure, we lift up a whispered prayer for our day. We may even speak a few names before we rush out the door, asking for protection or healing or provision. Then what? Honestly? The majority of us simply get on with life – with the ‘things’ of this world that we must address during the course of day-to-day living.

Oh, how we must grieve the Father’s Heart! Over and over in His Word we are given examples of great men and women of Faith who also had to face ‘things’ (the regular things of life) yet they took the TIME to seek out the Father’s Heart.

Let’s take a look at a few:

Judges 20:27         –          1 Samuel 22:10          –       Nehemiah 2:4          –       Daniel 1:17

Within the pages of our Bibles we have example after example; Old Testament as well as the New, where men and women of God took the time to seek the Father – AND took the time to heed His response – they LISTENED and then they acted upon His instructions!

The results were phenomenal!

Dear ones, His wisdom is ours –

         if we seek it!

His protection is ours –

    if we seek it!

His peace is ours –

    if we seek it!

His provision is ours –

  if we seek it!

What is the MAIN reason we should seek the Lord??? I love what this verse says:

But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. (NKJV)
… to me, the “but from there” means I can apply this verse to any situation I face – there is NOTHING to big or too small for me to bring before my God! If I reach out in faith, wholeheartedly – He is ever faithful to answer!     if we seek Him and LISTEN

SO Much . . .

So much anger.

So much pain.

So much grief, Lord,

Help me to remain

At peace with others, and walk in love

Your Perfect Love, sent from Heaven above.

Show me how to help them release

Their frustrations, their angst,

And grab a hold of  Your Peace!

It is only through You that we can find rest

In this land of turmoil and strife

Let us learn to walk in LOVE with others

image from

As we face each day of life, for

Until Your return when all strife

Will CEASE . . . we can walk with Your Spirit

In Your PERFECT Peace –

Peace with You, by accepting Your Son

Peace with each other, Lord, make us ONE!

We need Your love,

Your grace,

Your peace,

Your wisdom, direction,

Lord, let it increase

Within our hearts and teach us to PRAY –

Pray with passion, with ferver, with tears

Over this Nation, once great, now filled with fears.

Let us use our voices before Your Throne

As well as speaking out here and now

To make Your Truth known!

The answer is YOU – for You are LOVE –

But we’ve neglected to show it

Oh, Father, forgive . . .

May we rise up and THROUGH YOU – LIVE!!!

Dear ones, we have wasted so much time NOT being on our knees before God on behalf of our Nation – our World! We have wasted so much time focusing on the things around us and allowing the enemy of our souls to dim our view of the VICTORY that is already ours through Christ’s finished work on Calvary!

We have forgotten who we are in Him and Who He IS in us!

We have forgotten to share the Hope we have – in fact, we have actually begun to speak gloom and doom along with the world around us!

The time is NOW – Christian – ARISE! Wake-up! Speak out (in love) God’s principles! Take a stand (in love). We can be BOLD in our faith as long as we temper it with God’s Love remember it is His Kindness that leads to repentence!  Romans 2:4

What a World!

Published November 16, 2015 by birdieklh

Our hearts are grieved over the state of this world we live in!!!

“When you hear of wars and disturbances, do not be terrified; for these things must take place first, but the end does not follow immediately.” Luke 21:9 NIV

“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NAS

It’s not like we did not have any warnings . . . Jesus (and even the prophets of old) spoke of the times we are now facing . . . we should not let us overwhelm us.

What then shall we do?

P R A Y !!!

and . . . be in the Word! Seek out His Word for yourself today – ask Holy Spirit to give you His promises to cling to, to stand upon, to make your very own for your peace. His Word is POWER – His Word will NOT return void – what He says He WILL accomplish! Be at peace, dear ones, and continue to know that as we choose to make Him our High Tower, our Dwelling Place; as we take refuge under the Shadow of His Wing – abide in His presence – He WILL be our protector. . . and, even if we are caught up in death, we still WIN! Remember:

“Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, “FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.” But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35-39 NAS

Abba Father, we come before You today, hearts heavy with the news reports, the scenes of devastation, yet we KNOW You – Your love for us, and we rest in Your love and in the promises of Your Word. Lord, use this situation (these situations, natural disasters as well) to draw more unto You. Comfort as only You can, Holy Spirit, and continue to show us ways in which we can intercede and be of assistance. Lord, Jesus, You told us of these times, yet You also promised us Your PEACE (within our hearts, that passes ALL understanding). It is to that peace we cling now, as we pour out our heart felt prayers for our brothers and sisters in France. Thank You for being their peace, and thank You for Your protection. Amen and amen.

Remembering? How Can We Forget?!

Published September 11, 2015 by birdieklh

Today is a day of great reflection.

It should be. 911

Today is a day when we all remember where we were and what we were doing on 9/11/01.

We should.

Today is a day when we contemplate the state of our United States, where we are headed as a Nation and our safety.

We should.

                     . . . BUT . . .

newsweek 911 photo

We should do this not just once a year on the anniversary of this tragedy, but every day!

We need the times of reflection to refocus our prayers over our nation, over our leaders, over decisions that are made and in the process of being made. We may not be politicians, but we DO have power – that power is PRAYER!

As we get down on our faces before the Lord, interceding for the things of this nation, praying for those in authority, asking God to grab hold of their hearts, turn them towards Himself and for His wisdom to be revealed through Godly advisers. Our prayers DO make a difference, my friends!

We can be praying for the families and businesses that were affected by the attack on our nation. Children have been growing up without one of their parents, perhaps both. Many have had to go on without their spouse, their child, their grandparent. People have had to change their way of life, the places where they work, perhaps so impacted that they could not even begin to think of ever working again in a high rise . . . many have moved into rural areas where they can ‘try’ to feel safe once more.

Our prayers DO make a difference!

So, go ahead, reflect upon this day and all that it represents . . . grieve along with our nation, but take it farther and bring it before the Lord – allow Him to heal whatever hurt is still in your heart – allow Him to strengthen and renew your thinking – allow Him to be your shelter, your safety – trust in Him – rest in Him!

Waiting or Waiting?

Published August 1, 2015 by birdieklh

Are you waiting for?

are you

waiting on?

image from

We wait all the time.

We wait in lines in the stores.

We wait in traffic for lights to change or some obstruction to be cleared.

We wait in doctor’s offices.

We have to wait our turn here and there and everywhere.

Even God asks us to “wait”. We are to wait on Him. Wait in prayer. Wait in faith, expectantly. We are to wait and not faint.

But . . . there are two kinds of ‘waiting’. The kind of waiting where we are simply biding our time for something to change, someone to come, or our turn to ____________________ fill in the blank. Then there is the kind of waiting that is fully active – waiting on someone else, helping to fulfill a need, like those who ‘wait’ tables.

I fully believe that the later is the true sense of the word ‘wait’ that the Lord is speaking to us. It is an active waiting.

Being fervent in our prayers.

Being active in our churches.

Being active in our communities.

Speaking forth His Word, His Truth, His principles, taking a stand for righteousness.

Sharing our testimonies boldly in order to help bring encouragement and hope and restoration to others.

Sharing His Love with those around us, those He strategically places along our path.

“…and when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8b

Abba Father, I want to be one of those who are truly waiting on You. Serving You, actively involved where You send me and how You instruct me as I am awaiting Your return, fervent in my prayers, strong in Your Love. I desire that You find me faithful in my waiting upon You. Show me what You would have me do, Lord, I am Your willing handmaiden, ready to do Your Will as I wait on you and for you, in Jesus Name, amen.
