As I sit here, rain falling steadily, I got to thinking:
“Why in the world are more of us NOT taking the time to sit in the presence of our Lord, truly listening to hear his heart?!”
I mean, let’s be honest here . . . we love the Lord, we attend services, we listen to Christian music, we (for the most part) select to hang out with like-minded brothers and sisters in the Lord . . . but, what about the MOST important FRIEND we have? What about our time with HIM???
Sure, we lift up a whispered prayer for our day. We may even speak a few names before we rush out the door, asking for protection or healing or provision. Then what? Honestly? The majority of us simply get on with life – with the ‘things’ of this world that we must address during the course of day-to-day living.
Oh, how we must grieve the Father’s Heart! Over and over in His Word we are given examples of great men and women of Faith who also had to face ‘things’ (the regular things of life) yet they took the TIME to seek out the Father’s Heart.
Let’s take a look at a few:
Judges 20:27 – 1 Samuel 22:10 – Nehemiah 2:4 – Daniel 1:17
Within the pages of our Bibles we have example after example; Old Testament as well as the New, where men and women of God took the time to seek the Father – AND took the time to heed His response – they LISTENED and then they acted upon His instructions!
The results were phenomenal!
Dear ones, His wisdom is ours –
if we seek it!
His protection is ours –
if we seek it!
His peace is ours –
if we seek it!
His provision is ours –
if we seek it!
