Trying to live upright in an upside down world.

The above graphic is from – thank you so much, this captures EXACTLY WHAT what I want to speak about today!  Jennifer Hopkins, who did this photography quite amazingly saw what was in my brain today – well, obviously she had it in her brain long before I did, but I am praising God I found this beautiful work to share with the message!

So, these past few days have been kind of a nightmare for me. Honestly, just coming back from an amazing retreat, I guess I should not have been surprised at the attacks. Been there, done that, so why do I forget? (Shrug, sigh.)

Have you ever woken up and thought briefly that EVERYTHING seemed to be Topsy-turvy? Completely turned around? Upside down? Well, that is how I have actually felt for a few days now!

Every single symptom of things I have been diagnosed with in the past had reared their ugly little heads – knocking me off my feet – not to mention personal conflicts/struggles with people that are dear to me! That sly ole’ enemy thinks he can stop my journey on this path of serving my King . . . he is GREATLY mistaken! I stand firmly upon the Word of God, I have my feet planted on solid ground, I have my full armor on, and he will NOT succeed!

Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.” NKJV

Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” NKJV

Even when the world seems upside down, I refuse to accept it or react to it! When Paul spoke in Romans 12, he told us: Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” NKJV – I believe he was not only addressing the things we might be tempted to follow after (things, people, fame, riches, etc.), but also the temptations/trials we face as well. We can CHOOSE to allow them to take us somewhere other than where God desires us to be! Think about it! God has already taken care of everything! We simply need to follow Him, trust in Him and keep on keeping on!

2 Peter 1:3 “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” NIV

Is it easy? No, it is not. BUT . . . in Christ, through Holy Spirit within us, we CAN overcome ALL the attacks of the enemy! We are over comers, we are victorious, we are kings and priests in His Kingdom!

I choose to follow my Savior regardless of any symptoms or conflicts that may arise. I choose to trust in His sovereignty and grace in every aspect of my life. I choose to worship Him, poor out my love and gratitude upon Him for Who He IS not because I may or may not feel like it! He is always worthy of praise!

So, if your world seems topsy-turvy, completely turned around, upside down – turn to the One Who created all things, the One Who holds everything in His loving, strong hands. Rest in Him – trust in Him – keep on walking in the path He has laid before you and KNOW YOU ARE VICTORIOUS!
