Am I Having Tantrums?

Published July 17, 2015 by birdieklh

A-TanOkay, we have all ‘seen’ them, in the stores (especially around the time all the new holiday games/movies/etc. are put out), children having out and out fits over something they WANT and their parents have said ‘No!’

They are so upset, completely beside themselves, no control over their emotions and BAM they literally explode into a tantrum right on the spot.

We shake our heads and move on to our own shopping. But if we are honest, we’ve all been there ourselves, not only as children, but now, as adults!

Let us ask ourselves these questions:

What do I do / how do I respond when my ‘DADDY’ (Abba Father, God) says ‘no’, or ‘wait’? Hmmmm. . .

Do we get so steaming mad that if people look close enough they can ‘see’ it – an anger/frustration that is tangible? And what about what we look like to God? Are we not like the children we shake our heads over?

Something to think about today . . .

When we say ‘no’ or ‘wait’ to our children there is a very good reason behind it, so why do we not realize the same with the way in which our Heavenly Father deals with us?

Luke 11:11-13 tells us quite clearly that He is ever so much more loving and considerate in His giving us things than we are with our own children . . . “If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” KJV – of course, here He is speaking about giving us the Holy Spirit, but it also shows us His heart of loving us.

Then there are these verses to consider . . .

James 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” KJV

Luke 18 – the parable of the unjust judge – the Lord clearly tells us that if an unjust judge will relent and help, how much more shall we be able to depend upon God to help us?!

And let us not forget that God knows what we need before we even ask (Matt 6:31-32 *) and that the answer comes to us immediately, yet sometimes it doesn’t ‘appear’ due to spiritual warfare / delays (see Daniel 10)

So, all in all, we simply need to KNOW and TRUST that He knows, He sees, He hears  A  N  D  He acts on our best behalf.

Our part?

TRUST AND WAIT

* I have to insert this, and laugh at myself. While looking for this passage I was thinking of another passage in Psalms, and therefore couldn’t find this one, and found myself on the verge of a frustration tantrum – OUCH! God surely has a sense of humor to have me ‘experience’ the very thing He laid upon my heart to share today.

Abba Father, Forgive me / us, for the times when we allow ourselves to lose control over our tempers (feelings). Help us to learn to trust You more and KNOW that You love us more than we could ever imagine and rest in You and wait upon You for Your timing and Your loving answer in our lives. Amen.
