Praises Surround, Worship Abounds

Published May 2, 2014 by birdieklh

As I sit here at my kitchen table, windows open, I listen . . .

I hear various birds from all around up in the trees . . .all joining their voices together.

They look different

They sound different

. . .  yet they are in unity . . .

when it comes to praising their Creator. Music background

Higher and higher, the different tones and lilts of their warbles blending together, soaring upward to Heaven.

If  one or two seconds elapse, more come to take their place. The melodic sounds filling my soul with joy, my heart with laughter, my mind with hope.

These precious little creatures sing with such abandon. Without one single care or worry or concern about anything. They live to sing praises. They live to make melody and share it with all who are within the sound of their voices.

Oh, to be as carefree as these!

The Lord has told us much about His ‘birds’. (I like to identify with them – my nickname, Birdie, even says as much. This name was given to me years ago by my ministry partner, Deb, who is now Home with the Lord . . . because – she said – “you’re ALWAYS singing!”)

He lets us know that not a sparrow falls from the sky that He is not aware of. He tells us that they do not ever have to worry about food because He is their ever constant source. They don’t question, they don’t worry, they keep on singing!

from from

from from

But . . . even though these examples are in His Word, He goes on to let us know that we – you and me – are even “more valuable” to Him! WOW!

Reflecting on this I, too, hands raised happy find myself lifting my own praises to join with my outdoor friends (these delightful little creatures, birds) in raising my worship to The Creator – how can I not? He truly HAS given us everything we have need of.

Such love! Such peace! Such hope! Such joy unspeakable and full of glory!

This is the song that is pouring out of me right now: (Lyrics by Fanny Crosby, Music by Chester Allen)

Praise Him! praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Sing, ye saints! His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him! hail Him! mightiest angels in glory;
Strength and honor give to His holy name!

Like a shepherd, Jesus will feed His people,
In His arms He carries them all day long;
O ye saints that live in the light of His presence,
Praise Him! praise Him! ever in joyful song!

Praise Him! praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,
For our sins He suffered and bled and died;
He, our Rock, our Hope of eternal salvation,

Hail Him! hail Him! Jesus, the Crucified;
Loving Savior, meekly enduring sorrow,
Crowned with thorns that cruelly pierced His brow;
Once for us rejected, despised, and forsaken,
Prince of Glory, ever triumphant now.

Praise Him! praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,
Heavenly portals, loud with hosannahs ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth for ever and ever;
Crown Him! crown Him! Prophet and Priest and King!
Death is vanquished! Tell it with joy, ye faithful,
Where is now thy victory, boasting grave?
Jesus lives! No longer thy portals are cheerless;
Jesus lives, the mighty and strong to save.
