Stepping in or taking the plunge?

karinmountainstream There was nothing more wonderful to me than being able to splash around in the coolness of a mountain stream after a climb or a hike. It was SO refreshing! If the weather was warm enough, and the water deep enough, I would beg to swim, arguing that my clothes would dry out on the way back down to our Jeep. Sometimes it would work, most times it wouldn’t, but you certainly couldn’t blame a gal for asking. I loved the mountains!

I loved the beaches too. Body surfing was a great hobby of mine . . . the thrill of being carried into shore by the POWER of the sea . . . you had to catch it just right or else BAM! you could end up being slammed into the hard sandy bottom, and it did not feel too good I can assure you. The ride didn’t last long, but it was well worth it, and I would scramble back out to do it again and again and again. – Sorry, got side tracked, I’m sharing today about rivers, not beaches, short trip down memory lane. 🙂

But, up in the mountains . . . the crystal clearness of the water . . . the beauty of God’s creation was indescribable!

Oh, and you could SING – the acoustics up in the mountains was incredible! WOW! I would drive Daddy nuts! I remember him telling me (more than once), “Don’t you ever shut up?!” Oh well, a gal has to have some fun. Oops . . . I’m getting side tracked . . .

There is an even greater river that I have been in that I want to share with you. The River of Life!

This River flows from the very throne of God. This River brings healing. This River brings restoration. This River brings hope. This River strengthens, renews, revitalizes the soul. This River equips you for anything and everything that you are facing and will be facing in the days ahead.

This River is one that you can completely PLUNGE into – Immerse yourself in His presence. Allow Him to minister to every area of your life. Allow Him to blanket you with His Love, His forgiveness. Allow Him to cover you with the anointing of His Grace and Mercy and Compassion.

Discover there Who He IS, and who you are in Him! How wide, how deep, how great is His love for you!

As someone so very wonderfully put it with this image –>

1. to plunge into water or other liquid; immerse.

2. to drench, as with water.

3. to dash or pour, as water.

4. to steep in pickling brine; pickle.

This, dear ones, is where we should be!

How do we get there? Oh, I am SO glad you asked! Through our time spent with the Lord. Reading His Word. Praying. Praising Him. Worshiping Him. Spending time in His Presence . . . This, dear ones, is where we should be!

But . . . don’t STAY there (although I KNOW you will want to). Visit there often, but take what He gives you and go out and share it with others. Distribute His love, grace, mercy, compassion, tenderness, kindness, goodness, joy, peace, with those around you. In the marketplace, in your home, in your neighborhood, in your schools, at your jobs, in your churches. Do NOT expect the ‘stepping in’ on Sunday mornings to be enough . . . there is SO much more! So very much more!
